Chalk on rock. 40×20 cm. Payande. Tolima. Colombia.
Hello, today I am proud to share the new method I have work on since two years teaching Perspectiv drawing at the Tolima University. The PERSPECTIVA ARTIFICIALIS INTEGRAL MATRIX It s a brand new original method that blend advantage of three others method, it s more accurate, more versatil for drawing manually complex set.
As there is no time for new production right now. The best I can, it’s showing in this blog, older work, that never had been show in an art exhibition. Also, I feel actually I need to make a kind of balance of what I did it, this is helping to go the aesthetic and hope so, virtuous way that is coming.
This gravure is the view that we saw from the kitchen of our apartment at the 22 PASSAGE BRUNOY, ILOT CHALON, just beside of the GARE DE LYON train station to south. It was at the third floors, looking to the PASSAGE RAGUINOT. There is so much to say about the life in this neighborhood, that I will let it for later entries. I draw it first quickly on artisan paper, white English pen and Chinese tint. It was the intermediate step of the deconstruction of a working class building of the Haussman era. Since few years It was since in an advanced state of ruin, due to various fire, and overall of the lack of maintenance by the owners (obviously people that they wasn’t living here, just receiving the cash of the rent). When I draw this, it was manually destroyed by workers. And truly it was a liberation, because finally it was possible to sea the sky and let entering the warm sunlight inside the small apartment, where we were living, my mother, my sister Armelle and myself. Before it was a very desolated vision of abandon, we lived it as a paradoxical moment, due to the simple question; When it will be our turn to be destroyed ???
As you can see, I didn’t reverse the drawing when I translate it to the copperplate, and of course it is symmetrically inverted in the print. This print that is labeled EA, artist trying print (epreuve d’artiste et qui porte bien son nom, au sens propre comme au figure), It’ s too dark on the second plan, where theres is the worker, and I find that it too rigid at the drawing level, it s far from the original, but anyway.Well I was beginner and there is still a lot to do, to reach higher level in the art working. Hope I will have a long life to to reach this state, and of course, I wish it for you to. Best regards and thanks for watching
As I am in a backup mood a drawing I make when I was student at the fine art school of RUEIL MALMAISON. It war twenty years ago and, in this time I was 21 and living with an Australian girl friend, DIANNA YOUNG, if she read those words, I am giving here my friendly and salutations, I learned a lot from here. She was also an artist, and and we were living in a very charming and old building, on of the XVII century century if I’m not wrong, with view on the seine from one side and on the other to a roof top, pretty romantic isn’t it? I was fully in my technohead period and if remember well it was in a the afternoon of a sunny spring Sunday. It was just after a Goa trance rave-party, TBE TRANSBODY EXPRESS, somewhere in a wood outside of Paris, very deep dancing all night long. Unfortunatly I didn’t have any picture of all those moments. But it was good time in life, relativly without problems and responsabilities. Sometime I am a bit nostalgic, listening some old techno from this pastime, especially this one EGE BAM YASI. It was the generic of the PATRICK ROGNANT radio show, RAVE UP on the FG RADIO station, friday night 2, hours of techno music and the source of what will going on the Parisian rave scene during the week end…
Then this was a very quiet Sunday in the the bedroom chilling, in the silence after, the AFTER OF THE TOLBIAC BRIDGE and the heavy double drop into the TBE 40 kw bass sound system. It was so pleasant and nice, drinking a delicious ceylan orange peak ow tea from Mariage freres, just to listening at the bird singing a sweat melody on top of the permanent surrounding city city vibration. Came a time I feel need to get in my hand my sketchbook and drawing specific things I was seeing and feeling.
This drawing is the only I kept from this day. I had planed to make a hand graving in a copperplate, but for some reason I don’t remember I never did it. I was in a kind of thematic tropism for windows in this period, I did several draw looking from inside to outside, as an analogy of the inner visual perception of the whole world in a few lines traced on paper, WORK ON PAPER, I have plan to make an exhibition with this title, but when, who knows, I don;t if I have to make a new coherent serial or just make a curation of the my own existing work, that is the question I guess that a bit of AGUA DE PANELA CON LEMONCILLO is needed to take a decision.
WORK ON PAPER, a la recherche du temps perdu, This is it.
